Holmes Construction is a small, full-service general contracting business owned and operated by Lou Holmes. We’ve been a go-to construction resource for home owners and businesses in the Southern New Hampshire & Northern Massachusetts areas since 1985.

Lou’s career began in the late 70’s as a laborer for Braeburn Development where he quickly worked his way up to field clerk for a large condo development in Tyngsborough, MA (Bridgeview Park condos).
In 1982, he was named construction supervisor for another large condo development project in Tynsborough (Bridgecrest condos). His duties included overseeing all aspects of the job from construction operations and managing subcontractors to purchasing materials and bookeeping.
In 1984, he continued his supervisory role for a project at The Mill on Princeton Street in North Chelmsford, MA where he oversaw 20 employees and as many as 50 subcontractors at a time. The project scope included a historic mill renovation and preservation of a 100,000 sq ft office and retail shops. He also managed a 42-unit apartment building renovation and 12,000 sq ft restaurant renovation at the same site.
A year later, Lou joined Richardson and Lampert as a project manager / construction supervisor for the Windor Pond (18-acre, 60 unit) and Killian Place (14-acre, 50 unit) single family condominiums in Nashua, NH. These projects marked the beginning of his transition into single family home construction.
Lou’s first solo job as owner and sole proprietor was a medical office renovation for Dr. David Simkin in Chelmsford, MA. Since then, he’s specialized in both commercial and residential renovations of all kinds.
In addition to his renovation work, he also began the construction of several single family homes. Between 1987 and 1999, he planned, managed, and built 6 of these projects with fantastic results. This is where Lou’s extensive knowledge of the full construction process really began to develop.
Over the years, Lou’s services have expanded. He now offers a wide range of renovation, repair and maintenance services for homes and offices.
